This summer we are holding one Sunday Worship Service combining elements from both our contemporary and traditional services. Plan to join us at 9:30 in the main sanctuary.
Come as you are – and come early!
The early service meets in the chapel, a more intimate worship space that seats about 100 people. The sermon and readings are proclaimed from the aisle, as there is no pulpit. The music is led by a praise band consisting of piano, drums, guitar and mandolin, and emphasizes modern praise choruses as well as interpretations of traditional hymns and spirituals. The songs are presented as written music scores, though there are also lyrics projected on a screen.
The service lasts about an hour and concludes with a service of communion, or the Lord’s Supper. All are invited to partake of the communion meal by intinction, meaning that participants come forward, take a piece of bread, dip it in the cup and eat.
Following the service, everyone is invited to gather in the common area for a time of coffee and fellowship.
