This summer we are holding one Sunday Worship Service combining elements from both our contemporary and traditional services. Plan to join us at 9:30 in the main sanctuary.
Everyone is invited to share in coffee fellowship and conversation before the service
Our second service of worship is rich in the tradition of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The service is held in our large sanctuary – a space that seats about 600. The congregation sings from the hymnal accompanied by the piano or the pipe organ. The chancel choir presents a special anthem, and the pastor preaches from the dais. There is a formal call to worship and doxology, printed in the bulletin.
The service of worship concludes with communion, to which everyone is invited. At the traditional service, the Lord’s Supper is typically served in a formal distribution with individual cups and communion wafers. We first take a wafer and eat; then to symbolize our individual relationship with Christ, we hold the cup until the end of the liturgy and share it together to symbolize our common life as a church.
After communion, the congregation is dismissed with a benediction
